DESCRIBED BY NATIONAL GEODETIC SURVEY 1972 0.6 MI SW FROM ACADEMY. 0.65 MILE SOUTHWEST ALONG STATE HIGHWAY 168 FROM THE JUNCTION OF MADSEN AVENUE AT ACADEMY, AT THE JUNCTION OF MENDOCINO AVENUE NORTH TO ACADEMY CEMETERY, 37.5 FEET NORTHWEST OF THE CENTER LINE OF THE HIGHWAY, 28 FEET EAST OF THE CENTER LINE OF THE AVENUE, 61 1/2 FEET NORTHWEST AND ACROSS THE HIGHWAY FROM A POWER POLE, 5 1/2 FEET NORTHEAST OF A FENCE CORNER POST, 1.2 FEET SOUTHEAST OF A FENCE, 1.6 FEET SOUTHEAST OF A WITNESS POST, ABOUT 1/2 FOOT LOWER THAN THE HIGHWAY, AND SET IN THE TOP OF A CONCRETE POST PROJECTING 0.4 FOOT ABOVE THE GROUND. Found it at 19:00, 28 August 2002. Found it mostly as described. Cap was flush with ground and covered with dirt. Mark 'X 803' was difficult to read due to minor damage to cap. New coordinates found by 5 minute occupation with 8 strong satellites and 1 intermitent WAAS satellite.
