DESCRIBED BY COAST AND GEODETIC SURVEY 1947 A STANDARD BRONZE DISK BENCH MARK OF THE U.S. COAST AND GEODETIC SURVEY IS SET 30.4 FEET WEST-NORTHWEST OF THE CENTER LINE OF STATE HIGHWAY 168, 1.8 FEET NORTH-NORTHEAST OF A WHITE WITNESS POST AND 1.2 FEET EAST-SOUTHEAST OF A FENCE LINE. THE MARK IS SET IN A 5 INCH SQUARE CONCRETE POST THAT PROJECTS ABOUT 5 INCHES ABOVE THE GROUND. IT IS STAMPED E 803 1947.

RECOVERY NOTE BY NATIONAL GEODETIC SURVEY 1970 (LFS) RECOVERED IN GOOD CONDITION, BUT HAS BEEN TILTED, BY ROAD EQUIPMENT, TO THE NORTHEAST. THE MARK IS SOUND AND SOLID IN THE GROUND. VERTICAL CONTROL WAS RE-ESTABLISHED, AT THIS TIME, TO THE BENCH MARK.

RECOVERY NOTE BY NATIONAL GEODETIC SURVEY 1972 1.4 MI SW FROM ACADEMY. 1.4 MILES SOUTHWEST ALONG STATE HIGHWAY 168 FROM THE JUNCTION OF MADSEN AVENUE AT ACADEMY, 41 FEET NORTH OF THE CENTER OF THE JUNCTION OF ACADEMY AVENUE SOUTH, 29.6 FEET NORTHWEST OF THE CENTER LINE OF THE HIGHWAY, ABOUT 1/2 FOOT NORTHEAST OF THE EXTENDED CENTER LINE OF THE AVENUE, 35.4 FEET SOUTHWEST OF TRIANGULATION STATION ACADEMY, 54 FEET NORTHWEST AND ACROSS THE HIGHWAY FROM A POWER POLE, 42 FEET NORTHEAST OF A FENCE CORNER, 0.5 FOOT SOUTHEAST OF A FENCE, 1.3 FEET NORTHEAST OF A WITNESS POST, ABOUT LEVEL WITH THE HIGHWAY, AND SET IN THE TOP OF A CONCRETE POST PROJECTING 0.3 FOOT ABOVE THE GROUND.
