FU3208 - "A 1243"

Stopped in Tehachapi, Ca. on the way to Lancaster, Ca. An unexpected overnight snowstorm slowed our leaving town but didn't hamper finding this mark.

Located in the town of Tehachapi, Kern County, California, this NGS mark lies adjacent to the town water tank on the north side of East Tehachapi Boulevard between Green Street and Robinson Street.  Found NGS mark stamped "A 1243" at 10:25, 16 February 2019 as described and in generally good condition. Located inside the fence around the town water tank (aka FU3379, "Tehachapi So Pac RR Tank"), this monument is well protected. The cap has been painted multiple times obscuring some of the detail (and it was covered in snow when I found it) but is still readable and identifiable.
