DESCRIBED BY COAST AND GEODETIC SURVEY 1955 AT HANFORD. AT HANFORD, 1.0 MILE NORTH ALONG DOUTY STREET FROM THE POST OFFICE, AT THE INTERSECTION OF GRANGEVILLE BOULEVARD, SOUTHWEST AND ACROSS THE INTERSECTION FROM THE HANFORD HIGH SCHOOL GROUNDS, 43.4 FEET SOUTH OF THE CENTER LINE OF THE BOULEVARD, 5.5 FEET SOUTH OF A 4- BY 4-INCH WOODEN POST SUPPORTING A SIGN SPEED LIMIT 25 MILES, 3.0 FEET WEST OF THE WEST CURB OF THE STREET, 3 FEET NORTH OF A 1-FOOT WALNUT TREE, 2.5 FEET EAST OF THE EAST EDGE OF THE STREET SIDEWALK, FLUSH WITH THE GROUND, AND SET IN THE TOP OF A CONCRETE POST.

Found USC&GS benchmark stamped 'X511 - 1955' at 09:10, February 21, 2009 as described and in good condition. Go to description is adequate. Grangeville Boulevard has been widened and the sidewalk along Douty Street is now monolithic. The mark now rests within the limits of the sidewalk and is adjacent to the curb return at the southwest corner of the intersection.
The mark is 2.5 feet west of the face of curb, 3.5 feet northwest of City Benchmark #29 set in the top of curb, 4 feet north of a street and signal light standard. The described (1955) 4x4 post and walnut tree are gone.
Published NAD83 coordinates are located about 100 feet easterly of the found WGS84 coordinates. WGS84 coordinates for the mark found by 3 minute occupation with 10 strong satellites and 2 WAAS satellites.
