DESCRIBED BY NATIONAL GEODETIC SURVEY 1953 9.8 MI NW FROM FRESNO. 9.7 MILES NORTHWEST ALONG THE SOUTHERN PACIFIC COMPANY RAILROAD FROM THE STATION AT FRESNO, THENCE 0.1 MILE SOUTHWEST ALONG GRANTLAND AVENUE, AT HERNDON, 0.2 MILE SOUTHEAST OF THE HERNDON SIDING SIGN, AT THE CITIES FUEL CORPORATION BUILDING (FORMER HERNDON SCHOOL), AT THE MAIN ENTRANCE, IN THE TOP OF THE SOUTHWEST END OF THE LOWER STEP, 2.1 FEET WEST OF THE SOUTHWEST END OF A BRICK ARCHWAY, 0.8 FOOT NORTHWEST OF THE NORTHWEST BRICK WALL, AND 0.7 FOOT ABOVE THE GROUND.

As far as I can tell, this benchmark no longer exists. The coords are in a parking lot in front of Klein's Truck Stop Diner. There are no structures (let alone a school) nearby matching the 1953 NGS description. The described Herndon Siding sign, the Cities Fuel Corp. building, and the former Herndon School are all gone. Klein's Truck Stop Diner is here now.

The coords for the benchmark are fairly close to the sewer manhole about 40 feet in front of the diner. (If you look closely, you can see the manhole in the picture.)
