Went to the south-central part of Fresno County for the day, passing through Riverdale, CA. Found some geocaches. Found some benchmarks.
Located in the Town of Riverdale, Fresno County, California, this NGS Triangulation Station lies north and west of the intersection of Mount Whitney Avenue and Valentine Avenue. DESCRIBED BY COAST AND GEODETIC SURVEY 1961 STATION IS LOCATED IN THE CENTER OF THE TOWN OF RIVERDALE, 265 FEET W OF THE CENTER LINE OF CENTRAL STREET, AND 200 FEET N OF THE CENTER LINE OF MT. WHITNEY AVENUE. IT IS A SILVER-COLORED ELEVATED STEEL WATER TANK ABOUT 100 FEET HIGH. ITS APEX WAS THE POINT OF INTERSECTION.

- The horizontal coordinates were established by classical geodetic methods and adjusted by the National Geodetic Survey in June 1998.
- The Laplace correction was computed from DEFLEC99 derived deflections.
- The geoid height was determined by GEOID99.
