Found myself in Tehachapi for a few hours, unfortunately for a funeral. I took a few minutes for myself afterward to go find this nearby mark.
Located in the City of Tehachapi, Kern County, California, this USC&GS mark lies on the north side of East Tehachapi Boulevard at Dennison Road, adjacent to the Tehachapi Municipal Airport. DESCRIBED BY COAST AND GEODETIC SURVEY 1953 0.9 MI E FROM TEHACHAPI. 0.9 MILE EAST ALONG THE SOUTHERN PACIFIC-SANTA FE RAILROAD FROM THE STATION AT TEHACHAPI, NEAR THE SOUTHEAST END OF THE NORTHWEST-SOUTHEAST RUNWAY OF THE TEHACHAPI KERN COUNTY AIRPORT, AT BRIDGE 361.38, IN THE TOP OF THE EAST END OF THE NORTH CONCRETE HEAD WALL, 66 1/2 FEET WEST OF THE CENTER LINE OF CROSSING OF A NORTH-SOUTH PAVED ROAD, 5.5 FEET NORTH OF THE NORTH RAIL, AND ABOUT 1/2 FOOT LOWER THAN THE TOP OF THE RAIL.

Control Text
- The horizontal coordinates were scaled from a topographic map and have an estimated accuracy of +/- 6 seconds.
- The orthometric height was determined by differential leveling and adjusted by the National Geodetic Survey in June 1991. WARNING-Repeat measurements at this control monument indicate possible vertical movement.
- The geoid height was determined by GEOID99.
- The dynamic height is computed by dividing the NAVD 88 geopotential number by the normal gravity value computed on the Geodetic Reference System of 1980 (GRS 80) ellipsoid at 45 degrees latitude (G = 980.6199 gals.).
- The modeled gravity was interpolated from observed gravity values.
