DESCRIBED BY COAST AND GEODETIC SURVEY 1969 6.2 MI N FROM OILFIELDS. 6.25 MILES NORTH ALONG STATE HIGHWAY 33 FROM THE OIL KING SCHOOL AT OILFIELDS, IN R15E T18S, SECTION 25, IN THE TOP AND 1.0 FOOT SOUTHWEST OF THE NORTHEAST END OF THE SOUTHEAST CONCRETE CURB OF A BRIDGE OVER INTERSTATE HIGHWAY 5, 15 1/2 FEET SOUTHEAST OF THE CENTER LINE OF THE HIGHWAY, AND ABOUT 1 FOOT HIGHER THAN THE HIGHWAY.

NEW DESCRIPTION FOLLOWS. 9.9 KM (6.2 MI) NORTH ALONG OLD STATE HIGHWAY 33 FROM THE OIL KING SCHOOL IN OILFIELDS, IN TOP OF THE NORTHEAST END OF THE SOUTHEAST CURB FOR THE OVERPASS BRIDGE OVER INTERSTATE HIGHWAY 5, 4.7 METERS (15.5 FT) SOUTHEAST OF THE HIGHWAY CENTERLINE, 0.2 METER (0.8 FT) SOUTHEAST OF THE NORTHWEST EDGE OF THE CURB. THE MARK IS 0.15 M ABOVE THE HIGHWAY.

Found USC&GS mark stamped 'U1195 1969' at 19:55, 18 February 2012 as described and in good condition.  Go to description is adequate.

Published NAD83 coordinates are located about 90 feet southerly of the found WGS84 coordinates.  WGS84 coordinates for the mark found by 3 minute occupation with 7 strong satellites and 2 WAAS satellites.

Found elevation: 550 feet.

Notes:
It's obvious from the pictures that I found this one at night.  My Wife & I were looking for a nearby Geocache and I had parked near the end of the bridge.  After we found the cache, a quick look on the bridge deck turned up GU1766.  I'll have to return during thr day to get better pictures of the setting and the surrounding area.
