Both roads mentioned in the description, and the intersection of them have been moved since 1943, and the old schoolhouse no longer exists. Evidence of the old roadbeds, and the steps to the school and the building pad still remain but are difficult to locate exactly. It is difficult to say if this benchmark still exists without some additional research and detective work.
A USGS benchmark was found in the area loosly matching the description, however it does NOT match the description of the benchmark itself. I believe this was a reset of the first, although the designations are different. This on is stamped '2006 feet', '66 KSM', '1947'. I have been unable to find any description of this cap.
