DESCRIBED BY COAST AND GEODETIC SURVEY 1944 (JCS) STATION IS LOCATED IN THE TOWN OF HELM, AT THE HELM MUNICIPAL COTTON GIN. IT IS 135 FEET S OF THE CENTER LINE OF KAMM AVENUE, 113 FEET E OF THE CENTER LINE OF LASSEN AVENUE, AND IS A SILVER-COLORED, ELEVATED, STEEL WATER TANK ABOUT 80 FEET HIGH. ITS APEX WAS THE POINT OF INTERSECTION.

Found it at 11:10, 13 Jan., 2003. Found (in near zero-visibility fog) as described and in poor condition. Tank is no longer in use, is now pale yellow/tan in color, and has been vandalized.

WGS84 coordinates were found by a 2.5 minute occupation about 20 feet east of the tank with 7 strong satellites, 2 weak satellites, and 2 WAAS satellites.
