TO REACH THE STATION FROM THE INTERSECTION OF GATEWAY DRIVE (BUSINESS ROUTE 99) AND STATE HIGHWAY 145 (YOSEMITE AVENUE) IN MADERA, GO SOUTH ON GATEWAY DRIVE FOR 1.0 MI (1.6 KM) TO THE ENTRANCE TO STATE HIGHWAY 99. GO SOUTH ON HIGHWAY 99 FOR 5.9 MI (9.5 KM) TO THE AVENUE 9/ROAD 31 1/2 OFF-RAMP. TAKE THE OFF-RAMP SOUTH FOR 0.2 MI (0.3 KM) TO AVENUE 9. TURN LEFT AND GO EAST ON AVENUE 9, CROSSING OVER HIGHWAY 99, FOR 0.6 MI (1.0 KM) TO THE INTERSECTION WITH FRONTAGE ROAD/ROAD 30 1/2. TURN LEFT AND GO NORTH, THEN WEST AND FINALLY NORTHWEST ON THE FRONTAGE ROAD FOR 0.7 MI (1.1 KM) TO AN IRRIGATION CANAL AND THE STATION ON THE RIGHT. THE STATION IS A SURVEY DISK ENCASED IN PVC PIPE WITH ACCESS COVER SET IN CONCRETE FLUSH WITH THE GROUND, 54.3 FT (16.6 M) NORTHEAST OF THE CENTERLINE OF THE FRONTAGE ROAD, 48.5 FT (14.8 M) SOUTHEAST OF THE SOUTHEAST CORNER OF A 3 FT (0.9 M) SQUARE CONCRETE STANDPIPE, 18.5 FT (5.6 M) NORTH OF THE CENTERLINE OF THE CANAL, 17 FT (5.2 M) SOUTH OF THE CENTER OF AN ACCESS ROAD ON THE NORTH SIDE OF THE CANAL, 2.5 FT (0.8 M) WEST OF A CARSONITE WITNESS POST AND ABOUT 6 FT (1.8 M) HIGHER THAN THE FRONTAGE ROAD. Found it at 17:50. Brass cap is located in a covered well, down 12, and in good condition. HPGN 06 RF is painted on the pavement and the benchmark is approximately 20' distant. Coords (NAD83) are very close - 10'-12' off when using the the Magellan on WGS84 datum. The coords I took are in WGS84.
