DESCRIBED BY COAST AND GEODETIC SURVEY 1952 7.7 MI W FROM MENDOTA. 0.7 MILE SOUTHWEST ALONG SEVENTH STREET FROM THE SOUTHERN PACIFIC COMPANY RAILROAD STATION AT MENDOTA, THENCE 5.0 MILES WEST ALONG BELMONT AVENUE, THENCE 2.0 MILES SOUTH ALONG LYON AVENUE, AT THE INTERSECTION OF CALIFORNIA AVENUE, AT AN 18-INCH CONCRETE PIPE CULVERT UNDER LYON AVENUE, IN THE TOP OF THE APPROXIMATE CENTER OF THE EAST CONCRETE HEAD WALL, 46 FEET NORTH OF THE CENTER LINE OF CALIFORNIA AVENUE, 27 FEET EAST OF THE CENTER LINE OF LYON AVENUE, ABOUT 2 1/2 FEET HIGHER THAN LYON AVENUE.

Found USC&GS benchmark stamped 'L362 1953' at 12:40, 09 May 2009 as described and in good condition. Go to description is adequate. At the northeast corner of Lyon & California Avenues. Set in the top center of the headwall of an abandoned culvert on the east side of Lyon Avenue, up 2 feet.
12 feet west-northwest from the center of a cluster of three palm trees, the westerly tree has been cut down to a stump;
14 feet southwest of a fence corner;
27 feet east of the centerline of Lyon Avenue;
43 feet north of the centerline of California Avenue;
Published NAD83 coordinates are located about 140 feet southeast of the found WGS84 coordinates. WGS84 coordinates for the mark found by 7 minute occupation with 9 strong satellites and 2 WAAS satellites.
