HR0724 "30B 1934"

Located in the Yosemite Valley, Mariposa County, California, this USGS mark lies at the east end of the Wawona Tunnel, entrance to the Yosemite Valley in Yosemite National Park. The USGS mark stamped "30B 1934" was found at 13:35, 26 July 2019 as described. The mark is in relatively good condition given it's age (set in 1934) and the amount of foot traffic in the area. Go to description is adequate to find the mark.

The mark has good line of sight to a nearby United State Department of Agriculture Bureau of Public Roads dual-purpose mark. The USDA mark is set in the top of the short granite wall around the west-bound overlook parking lot, at the west end of the lot. The USDA mark has both an elevation and roadway stationing stamped on it.

Published NAD83 coordinates are located about 126 feet southeast of the found WGS84 coordinates. WGS84 coordinates for the mark found by 3 minute occupation with 4 strong satellites. Proximity to the mountain (and tunnel) blocked many of the other satellite signals.
