HO0361 - C365 1982
Visited the back roads of beautiful southern Utah. Saw some pretty desert country. Found a few benchmarks. Got a speeding ticket. (Not recommended) On the plus side, the Officer was very nice.
Located in the Town of Santa Clara, Washington County, Utah, this NGS mark lies in the vertical face of a local church building. The 1982 NGS description says this is a Latter Day Saint Temple. The is not a Temple; just a chapel. The NGS mark stamped "C365 1982" was found at 14:30, 06 January 2020 as described and in good condition. Go to description is adequate to find the mark.
No new coordinates were taken with a GPSr.

DESCRIBED BY NATIONAL GEODETIC SURVEY 1982 IN SANTA CLARA. IN SANTA CLARA, VERTICALLY IN THE SOUTH FACE AT THE SOUTHEAST CORNER OF THE CONCRETE FOUNDATION FOR THE CHURCH OF LATTER DAY SAINTS TEMPLE, 11.9 METERS (39 FT) NORTH OF THE NORTH CURB OF SANTA CLARA DRIVE, 0.35 METER (1.2 FT) ABOVE THE GROUND. THE MARK IS 0.3 M ABOVE SANTA CLARA DRIVE.

Control Text
- The horizontal coordinates were scaled from a topographic map and have an estimated accuracy of +/- 6 seconds.
- The orthometric height was determined by differential leveling and adjusted by the National Geodetic Survey in June 1991.
- The geoid height was determined by GEOID99.
- The dynamic height is computed by dividing the NAVD 88 geopotential number by the normal gravity value computed on the Geodetic Reference System of 1980 (GRS 80) ellipsoid at 45 degrees latitude (G = 980.6199 gals.).
- The modeled gravity was interpolated from observed gravity values.
