Spent the day in Madera County exploring some of the back-roads in and around the community of Raymond, California. Found a few benchmarks while I was at it.

DESCRIBED BY COAST AND GEODETIC SURVEY 1943 2 MI N FROM RAYMOND. 2 MILES NORTH ALONG THE ROAD TO MARIPOSA FROM THE POST OFFICE AT RAYMOND, AT POINT WHERE THE ROAD MAKES A RIGHT ANGLE TURN, 15 FEET SOUTH OF A RANCH GATE AND 2 FEET NORTH OF A FENCE CORNER, 48 FEET SOUTHWEST OF THE CENTER OF ROAD. WITNESS POST SET.

Control Text
- The horizontal coordinates were scaled from a topographic map and have an estimated accuracy of +/- 6 seconds.
- The NAVD 88 height was computed by applying the VERTCON shift value to the NGVD 29 height (displayed under SUPERSEDED SURVEY CONTROL.) The vertical order pertains to the superseded datum.
- The geoid height was determined by GEOID99.
