DESCRIBED BY NATIONAL GEODETIC SURVEY 1972 1.8 MI NE FROM ACADEMY. 1.85 MILES NORTHEAST ALONG STATE HIGHWAY 168 FROM THE JUNCTION OF MADSEN AVENUE AT ACADEMY, 0.15 MILE NORTHWEST OF A CONCRETE BRIDGE OVER SALES CREEK, AT THE NORTHWEST END OF A CURVE, IN THE TOP OF A 10- BY 6-FOOT GRANITE BOULDER PROJECTING ABOUT 2 FEET ABOVE THE GROUND, 37 FEET NORTHEAST OF THE CENTER LINE OF THE HIGHWAY, 18 FEET EAST-SOUTHEAST OF A 24-INCH OAK TREE, 90 FEET SOUTHEAST OF THE NORTHWEST END OF A CUT, 5.7 FEET SOUTHWEST OF A FENCE, AND ABOUT 7 FEET HIGHER THAN THE HIGHWAY. Found USC&GS azimuth mark stamped "LEE 1950" at 16:15, March 15, 2009 as described and in good condition. Go to description is adequate. 2 feet southwest of a Carsonite witness post, 5.5 feet southwest of a wire fence, and 18 feet easterly of a 36" oak tree.
Published NAD83 coordinates are located about 366 feet southeasterly of the found WGS84 coordinates. WGS84 coordinates for the mark found by 2.5 minute occupation with 7 strong satellites and 2 WAAS satellites.
