DESCRIBED BY NATIONAL GEODETIC SURVEY 1971 (WMJ) THE POINT INTERSECTED WAS THE FINIAL KNOB ATOP THE FIREBAUGH, N. F. DAVIS FARMS, WATER TANK THAT IS LOCATED ABOUT 8 MILES NORTHWEST OF MENDOTA, 3.5 MILES SOUTHWEST OF FIREBAUGH AND 0.7 MILE WEST OF THE INTERSECTION OF BULLARD AVENUE AND DOUGLAS AVENUE. THE TANK IS CYLINDRICAL IN SHAPE, SUPPORTED BY FOUR STRUCTURAL STEEL LEGS AND PAINTED ALUMINUM IN COLOR. IT IS 110 FEET IN HEIGHT.

Found as described and in poor condition. As a triangulation station for surveying purposes it is still usable. As a water tank it is in bad shape and no longer in use. Very rusted and vandalized, and the water supply lines and pumps have been removed. WGS84 coordinates found by 3 minute occupation at the base of the tank with 6 strong satellites and 6 WAAS satellite.
